Grand Tour: The Entertainment show

Scrap Top Gear, we have something that not only is better than the current show but it's even better than before with the original trio back.

What an opening and what a first episode.

Going to quickly fire bullets on why I’ve enjoyed the trio originally on Top Gear:
  • ·         As a guy I can relate to them, I also know a lot of men that can too and don’t forget women can also relate to these guys to their other halfs.  I myself would say I’m more like Hammond.
  • ·         The chemistry of the trio works incredibly well and it did from the first episode.
  • ·         Doesn’t take itself too serious.
  • ·         Sometimes they ignore political correctness.
  • ·         At times they actually do incredible journeys and make mistakes but they usually get to the destination somehow.
  • ·         They show us the world through the eyes of the average Joe.
  • ·         The cars, the tanks, the bikes and occasionally a wet Jeremy on scooter.
  • ·         The humour is spot on.
  • ·         Some of it is setup but some of it is real.

It really is a great mix and blend of everything that makes it work.  They will rip in to each other but at times show real concern when something serious occurs (like when Hammond was involved in a serious accident).  The introduction to the Grand Tour couldn’t have been better where it would show us as a joke Jeremy being booted out of the BBC.

I know a lot of people who don’t like Jeremy but even they will say when it comes to shows like this, he’s brilliant.

Summary
The Grand Tour started off brilliantly with its humour of Jeremy leaving the BBC (well booted out).
It showed us they are willing to spend a great deal of time and money making this big.
Loved the fact the show is more entertaining and fun with the trio still being lads taking this a lot less serious.
The good thing is it doesn’t feel like this is just another Top Gear/Fifth Gear.  It’s gone for more entertainment as if Top Gear wasn’t being run by the BBC and forgetting about those few who wanted “facts and reviews” all day.  Let’s face it, the majority of us are not fussed about them reviewing an average car.

Love it.
